Learning outcomes

The main target is investigating and knowing the locomotor system anatomy. Furthermore, students will approch macroscopic and microscopic study of anatomy of major splancnic systems.

Course contents

An introduction to Anatomy: levels of organization, an introduction to organ systems, oganization of body cavities and language of Anatomy. Link between function and anatomical structure. Notes of histology: epielial tissue; connective tissue; muscle tissue.

The skeletal system: microscopic organization of bone tissue and cartilage. Bones macroscopic strucure and joints classification and functions. Axial division (cranium, vertebral column and thorax). Appendicular division: the pectoral girdle and upper limb; the pelvic girdle and the lower limb.

Anatomy of major skeletal muscles, their location and nomenclature.

The cardiovascular system: the blood, the heart, vessels and circulation: the pulmonary and the systemic circuit. The lymphoid system organization.

The respiratory system and its functions: the upper and the lower respiratory system. The lungs and pulmonary bronchi

The urogenital system.

The digestive system: an overview and accessory glandular digestive organs: the liver and the pancreas.

Frontal lessons with slides, and making available/sharing audio/video lessons' recordings

Assessment methods

Examination by about 31 closed-ended questions.

It is necessary passing the examination to approach the optional oral exam.
