Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2022, she carries out her research in the field of hematological neoplasms, studying Myelodysplastic Syndromes, with particular reference to erythroid differentiation and the nuclear signal transduction pathway linked to the nuclear protein PI-PLCbeta, during myeloid differentiation induced by Azacitidine combined with Venetoclax. Also of interest to her is the study of signal transduction in low-risk myelodysplastic patients, polytransfused and under iron chelation therapy with Deferasirox.
As a cytometrist, in collaboration with various research groups, she was also interested in solid tumors (osteosarcomas), with attention to the role and expression of the nuclear protein LAMINA A in the phenomena of carcinogenesis and metastasis.
Another area of interest is represented by the study of the role of astrocytes in the rare disease Autosomal-dominant leukodystrophy (ADLD).
