Academic Year 2020/2021

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Imaging and Radiotherapy techniques (cod. 9079)

Course contents

The teaching of the Course of Technical Sciences of the Radiological Imaging of the Abdomen and of the Chest with and without contrast medium proposes to make the student acquire the techniques useful for the radiological studies of the thoraco-abdominal systems with and without contrast medium and the relative preparations of the patient.

The program is divided into:

1) Hint geometric parameters, planes and projections, KV and mAsec, time and physical parameters

2) MdC: Natural and artificial used for diagnostic purposes in the human body

3) Chest X-ray Study: Anatomy, projections, criteria and problems based on the method of execution (standard, bed, SO, adult and pediatric)

4) Radiographic study of the abdomen: Anatomy, projections, criteria and problems based on the method of execution (standard, bed, orthostasis and supine, in SO, adult and pediatric)

5) Radiological Study of the Digestive System diagnostic investigations with and without contrast medium in reference to the First Pathways, Esophagus, Stomach, Small enema, Opaque Enema, Defecography and Fistulography, outline of anatomy, preparation and execution, projections and correctness criteria.

6) Radiological study of swallowing and salivary glands, outline of anatomy, preparation and execution, projections and correctness criteria.

7) Radiological study of the biliary tract: investigations in reference to intraoperative and post operative cholangiography, percutaneous cholangiography and ERCP, cholacystography for OS and cholangiography, outline of anatomy, preparation and execution, projections and correctness criteria.
