Academic Year 2019/2020

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Music and Theatre Studies (cod. 8837)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop the student acquires skills in the practical application of the skills developed during the courses, enabling him to interact effectively within professional activities in the design, production and dissemination of live entertainment activities.

Course contents

The laboratory aims to reconstruct the historical connection between theatrical production and political ideology through the analysis of a specific case: the over two hundred reviews of theatrical performances written by Antonio Gramsci in "Avanti!" between 1915 and 1920.

The aim of the workshop is therefore to focus on the link between theatrical production and its reception in a particular political context, characterized by radical social changes and epochal transformations of the imaginary, reconstructing the link between a work of art, theater criticism and political ideology as constitutive of the era of mass politics.
