Michele Filippini is Associate Professor in History of political thought, his research activity covers mainly the history of political thought and political philosophy. His main lines of research involves the history of Marxism and post-Marxism (Gramsci, workerism, Laclau), the early modern political thought (Machiavelli, Hobbes), mass society in XIX and XX century, and the forms of political legitimation and political power.
He has been Principal Investigator of gramsciproject.org. Among his recent books: Using Gramsci: A New Approach (Pluto Press, 2017), Una politica di massa.
