Abstract
Description: The project aims at identifying cancer-related mRNAs and metabolites, and to develop a machine learning algorithm to be able to predict metabolites based on gene expression profiles. The project will implement state-of-the-art transcriptomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics tools in gastric and other cancers, in order to understand whether the heterogeneity observed in patients has molecular basis. Goals: to better understand the interplay between metabolome and transcriptome. Expected results: at least one peer-reviewed publication in international journals, describing the role of gene expression and/or metabolite abundance in cancer.
