Accessibility and services for disabled people

The Ruffilli Central Library grants accessibility and services to disabled people.

Accessibility

Users with mobility impairments can access to the Library by using the stairlift at the entrance. To contact the Library staff, ring the bell or call 0543 374001.

To speak to the staff from any Library room, you can request a walkie-talkie at the Information Desk.

Two reserved cloackroom lockers are available to store bags and overcoats.

The Library pages, as well as the University website, are developed in compliance with the current provisions on the accessibility of websites.

Services

An accessible workstation has been set up at the Ruffilli Central Library to process learning material for students with certified disabilities.

The Library cooperates with the other University libraries in relation to the specific needs of institutional users with disabilities and in collaboration with the Disabled and SLD Students Service.

The Library grants the extension of the loan terms to institutional users with certified disabilities.

All the students of the University of Bologna with certified disabilities can receive documents not available in the Ruffilli Central Library, on loan or in copy, from other Italian or international  libraries.

Copies in Braille of some textbooks are available for loan. To view the list, enter "braille" in the search field of the Library Catalogue and choose "Materiale documentario" from the box on the right "Naviga tra i risultati".
