Loans and consultation

All the books and journals can be consulted on the premises by any user.

Loan

The loan service is provided in line with the criteria defined in the Regulations for loans and interlibrary loans in the Bologna area (ITA).

Each user is entitled to borrow a maximum of ten books at a time, including no more than five textbooks listed in any exam bibliography. Loan extension can be allowed only once, for the same duration of the loan and only if there are no other requests/reservations. Some categories of users are entitled to a greater number of volumes on loan at the same time and to a longer loan duration: see the details in the Regulations.

The loan service is available to everyone upon presentation of a university card (badge) for students of the University of Bologna or a valid identity document.

Extensions and bookings

Users can book documents or request to extend a loan via the OPAC or by contacting the Library.

Documents that cannot be loaned:

• printed journals
• encyclopedias
• psychological assessment tests
• other reference works, due to conservative or functional reasons
