Educational/experimental greenhouses

The Greenhouse Complex consists of a permanent greenhouse , made of polished tempered glass, fully air-conditioned and controlled by a computerised system (for managing and collecting data and programming the climatic parameters in the various sectors), with a surface area of 280 m2, which is divided into several areas. One of these areas is used for agronomic interventions and plant breeding and propagation, while another is dedicated to plant pathology, and another to experiments with LED lights. There is also a shading structure, with a surface area of 150 m2. A multitude of experimental and educational activities related to propagation, nutrition and programming of the phenological phases of soilless, ornamental and landscape plants can be carried out in the greenhouses. It is also possible to experiment directly with microclimate management in a protected environment and study the interactions between climatic parameters, plant development and quality. The health aspects of ornamental and medicinal plants can also be addressed, especially those found in green areas (both public and private) and in the production sector.
