Mission

The division’s mission is to ensure the University's accounting and tax management and support financial planning.

Main activities

• Preparing and managing the University's annual budgets, including analysis and in-depth study of projected income from key sources such as student fees and the Ordinary Financing Fund (FFO), as well as the University's financial statements and consolidated financial statements, ensuring integration with the economic and financial activities of departments and comparable organisational entities, and providing appropriate reclassifications.
• Managing the accounts receivable and payable cycle for all general administration divisions and organisational entities without financial autonomy in this area.
• Managing accounting for divisions and organisational entities that adopt the Accounting Service model.
• Supporting University management by producing monitoring reports and determining and analysing costs to support resource allocation systems and measurement of goal achievement.
• Supporting staff financial planning, in coordination with the competent HR division, also by calculating specific indicators.
• Monitoring the planning and management of the University’s liquidity, including compliance with ministerial cash requirements.
• Managing relations with the University's bank.
• Fulfilling tax, social security and insurance obligations.
• Overseeing and ensuring the proper functioning of accounting procedures and the accounting information system.
• Serving as a single point of contact for the University’s organisational entities regarding accounting procedures and the correct use of accounting software.
• Assessing requests for payment plans from debtors.
• Managing salary payments and supplementary remuneration for staff (teaching staff, researchers, professional staff, language expert assistants and lectors), including hospital allowances for staff covered by agreements with the National Health Service.
