Programme profile

This degree program provides knowledge and in-depth competences in the innovative field of marketing and business management in the farming and agribusiness sector. It follows a supply-chain approach, aiming to enhance the economic, social and environmental quality and sustainability of agricultural production.

The programme allows students to apply the typical technical knowledge of the primary sector to the referred socio-economic context. It provides the competences needed to investigate and analyse the political and economic dynamics underlying national and international markets in the primary and agribusiness sectors. It provides the skills required to manage businesses and define planning strategies that are consistent with company missions and the dynamics of consumer behaviour. This knowledge allows graduates to:

- Understand and apply modern production techniques to key farming and agro-industrial activities;

- Understand and use diagnostic tools applied to key adversities affecting farm products and processed goods;

- Be familiar with the main quality analysis tools applied to agro-industrial productions;

- Apply investigation methods and participate in research and experimentation, using the acquired knowledge to solve a range of regulatory, organisational, managerial and commercial problems affecting farming and agro-industrial businesses;

- Interpret the market dynamics of agro-industrial products both nationally and internationally;

- Use a marketing management approach, respecting the specific nature of the agri-food sector;

- Examine the structure and organisation of various agro-industrial supply chains;

- Work as professional consultants providing technical assistance in the farming and agro-industrial field, particularly in management, sales and quality enhancement.

Extra-curricular activities

During the year, conferences are organised on subjects depending on the promoting scientific disciplinary field, as well as seminars on themes related to the degree programme (marketing, agricultural economics, etc); these are held by freelance professionals, representatives of leading companies in the agroindustrial sector, professors and experts, both Italian and foreign and staff of the public administration

Visits to companies or representative situations are also provided for; practical activities using computer systems are also organised.

International mobility

Exchange programmes are available thanks to arrangements with other Universities as part of the Erasmus programme and other agreements. Students can also choose to carry out part of final paper or internship abroad.
