Course contents

The seminars of the a.y. 2023/24 is monographic. The investigated theme is that of economic alternatives in the post-globalization era.

Premise: The thirty years of neo-liberal globalization (1980-2008) produced wealth, economic growth and social development in important areas of the world. At the same time, its contradictions drove the world economy to the greatest crisis in modern history (the financial crisis of 2008), a surge in global inequalities, the unsustainability in the exploitation of natural resources, the environmental and political crisis that has has been bringing populist and sovereignist movements to power in many countries.

At the same time and under the track, the last few decades have also seen the growth of experiences and networks of social and communitarian economy, in which an attempt is made to build a bottom-up alternative that might be able to hold together the market, economic initiative, development, the environment and social inclusion. Some of these experiences have gained the attention of economic research and, in some cases, of institutions.

These seminars have the objective of understanding some of these experiences on a theoretical and practical level. During the first lesson, the topics to be explored in subsequent seminars will be chosen.
