Learning outcomes

In a digital world, every activity is vulnerable to cyber attacks. At the end of the course the students are able to know and evaluate the most dangerous cyber threats to the society and to specific organizations and industries. Moreover, they are expected to be able to design and build secure systems by adopting modern defensive strategies and technologies that are discussed in class and experimented in lab.

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures and exercises in class. Interaction is appreciated and evaluated as a component of the final grade.

Assessment methods

There are two possibilities of assessment.

(1) Analysis and discussion of a problem and oral exam

(2) Project (max 2), presentation of the results and discussion

The student interested to the option (2) must agree on the topic of the project with the teacher before the end of November and complete the assessment in the first exam session (typically, by the end of February).
