Learning outcomes

The seminar will be held by experts and translators of contemporary and classic British and American comics. The aim is to provide attendees with basic skills about comics and their translation. It is not only a workshop but also an introduction to the languages and the history of the comics, with some lessons focused on translation.

Course contents

The seminar includes a translation workshop and some interviews with experts and translators of English and American comics, with the aim of providing basic skills relating to comics and their translation.

The seminar is coordinated by Prof. Gino Scatasta and Dr. Fabio Gamberini.

Teaching methods

Lectures and workshops. The active participation of students in classroom activities is essential for the achievement of educational goals.

Assessment methods

At the end of the activities, students will have to submit the translation of some comics from English to Italian chosen by the lecturers in order to obtain 3 cfu.

The material will be uploaded onto Virtuale at the end of the lectures.
