Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the basic knowledge to understand the conditions of personal and relational discomfort

Course contents

Definition of Clinical Psychology and fields of application.

The contribution of psychodynamics to the understanding of the relationship between health care provider and assisted person; the psychology of the ego, psychological defenses and adaptation, the theory of object relations.

Attachment theory: interpersonal relationships and psychological development, strange situation and attachment style. Mentalization.

Notes on transference and countertransference, resistances and defenses.

Readings/Bibliography

It is not necessary to purchase specific texts. The following will be provided in class: didactic material also available through username and password at AMS Campus - AlmaDL - University of Bologna, references to recommended texts.

Teaching methods

The teaching consists of 3 lectures for a total of 8 hours. The contents of the program will be presented with examples of clinical cases.

Assessment methods

The verification is aimed at evaluating the learning of the main models of clinical psychology to understand, manage and improve the relationship between podiatrist and client. The verification, by written exam, consists of 15 multiple choice questions (for each question, four answers to choose from). The verification will last 45 minutes. There is also an ongoing test which consists of 15 questions with a true / false answer lasting 30 minutes. The correct answer to 15 questions is the vote of 30.

Slides, films, clinical case presentations, interactions with students will be used.
