Learning outcomes

Kwoledge and ability to understand.

The aim of the course is:

to document the complex and unavoidable relationship between science and art, not only in the field of medicine but also in the field of gnoseology in a more general way

to give reason to the artistic dimensions of medicine and the cure addressed to ill people.

To understand medicine as an anthropological science , in its relationship between ethic , rational dimensions and behavioural , scientific method and complexity/sustainability of the health systems.

To understand what determins the curing path, between scientific diagnosis and therapy in their relationship with the assistential  , moral and humanistic dimensions

Course contents

During the course it will be emphasized the experiences of the professionists either in the medical evironment or out of it, so that to be able to understand those dimensions of work which may eavily affect the medical profession, like:

dedication, motivation, handcraft ability, quality research, method, gratuity...

Making judgement: to identify the reasons leading to the crisis of the nowadays health systems and the roots of the most remarcable problems.
