Recent advances in strength training (e.g. blood flow restriction, isometric pre activation, total body vs split routine)
Endurance Training
Theoretical models of endurance performance
Testing and monitoring of endurance athletes
Adaptations to difference endurance training methods
Overtraining in endurance athletes
Laboratory practicals
Practical experience with different functional, psychological and physiological tests (only for students enrolled in 96191 - Advanced Strenght Training and Conditioning for Health and Performance)

Assessment methods
The assessment method for this course is a take-home assignment (literature review on a topic related to sport training chosen by the student) discussed during the oral exam. The literature review has to be submitted a week before the oral exam. More details will be provided during Module 1 (exam preparation).
Teaching tools
Laboratory at the "Centro Sportivo Universitario Record" in Bologna which has equipment for the testing and training of athletes.
Virtual Learning Environment platform which includes announcements and online discussions, scientiffic articles, presentation slides and other teaching material.
