Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: - possesses the knowledge to understand the fundamental structure of the Internet as a packet-switched network and the main services offered by the World Wide Web such as e-mail, instant messaging, remote connections, the evolution of social network services o Web2, the processes of searching for information on the Web; - will also have basic knowledge on the use of spreadsheets (operations, functions, graphics), and database management (construction of tables, relations, forms, and queries).

Course contents

The laboratory aims to raise awareness of environments, tools and strategies that can be activated to support educational and social inclusion processes.

Specifically, students will learn to:

use tools for creating clear and effective relationships (eg Microsoft Word)
use tools for creating presentations (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Presentations)
create and manage a personal website
use applications for surveys and quizzes (eg Doodle, Google Modules, Kahoot)
identify and reuse multimedia resources on the web (eg. Google Images, Flickr, YouTube) also taking into account the related user licenses
identify, use and analyze digital books and magazines
use software for educational documentation and online training (eg Moodle)

Readings, texts and in-depth articles will be reported to students during the workshop.

Teaching methods

The course is organized in laboratory mode and includes both practical tests evaluated by the teacher during the meetings, and tests / papers to be presented or delivered to the teacher at the end of the meetings. We will work individually and / or in small groups.

In consideration of the type of activity and the teaching methods adopted, the attendance of this training activity requires the prior participation of all students in the training modules 1 and 2 on safety in the study places [https: //elearning-sicurezza.unibo. it /], in e-learning mode.

Assessment methods

At the end of the laboratory, students will be invited to present an analytical report / an in-depth analysis on the works and issues addressed during the laboratory.

Please note that each 3 CFU laboratory includes 24 hours of face-to-face lessons (8 hours per CFU) and 51 hours of individual study (each CFU is 25 hours in total). Therefore, it will not be enough to attend the laboratory to obtain the evaluation, it will instead be necessary to do all the required exercises.
At the end of the workshop the evaluation will be expressed as suitability. To obtain eligibility, the student must attend the lessons by actively participating in the activities proposed in the presence; deliver all the planned exercises respecting the deadlines.

Teaching tools

Lessons usually take place in the computer lab with a student PC workstation, video projector, interactive whiteboard.

However, it is recommended that each student have the possibility to use a PC / laptop even during individual study hours.
