Learning outcomes

At the end of the course unit, students: - possess an in-depth knowledge about the international and supranational labour law instruments, with an emphasis on transboundary working relationships and any possible distortion due to labour mobility (e.g. social dumping); - are capable, also by relying on regulatory comparison patterns, to resolve complex legal issues on working relationships characterized by the presence of international elements or involving economic migrants.

  3. Working contractual relationship: employment and self-employment contracts
  4. On demand workers, just in time workers and staffing on line
  5. New forms of entrepreneurial organization and work flexibility in the European social context and in the national regulatory dimension: employment, interposition, subcontracting, transnational posting, decentralization of production
  6. Smart factory and smart working: new models of work organization and practical applications
  7. Work environment and working relationships
  8. Labour market policies
  9. Anti-discriminatory labour law
  10. Role of unions in the flexible management of human resources

Teaching methods

Classes will be in presence and/or by remote connection according to the University and/or Department instructions.

In addition, to support learning, seminars, practical exercises, testimonies and workshops will be proposed.

Assessment methods

The examination consists of an oral test, articulated in two questions of the same weight for the purpose of the final vote, which is expressed out of 30.

Definition of the final vote:

preparation on a very limited number of topics taught in the course, analysis capacity displayed only with the help of the Professor, speech mainly correct → 18-19;

preparation on a limited number of topics taught in the course, autonomous analysis capacity only on executive matters, correct speech → 20-24;

preparation on a wide number of topics taught in the course, capacity of autonomous critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;

thorough preparation on the topics taught in the course, capacity of autonomous critical analysis and ability to link, full mastery of specific terminology, self-reflection and argumenting capacity → 30-30L.

The evaluation criteria used in the allocation of the final grade for the attending students will take account of the knowledge and the ability to present and discuss the topics covered. In particular, active participation to lesson discussions and given material presentation will be weighted 50% in the final vote.

Teaching tools

Given the rapid evolution of the subject matter, the lessons will take account of the changes in the legislation, case law and collective bargaining. To that end, supplementary material will be posted on line on the Virtuale platform, as well as slides relating to the various issues addressed in class, and possible announcements and/or news.
