Learning outcomes

The models that have historically characterized the body culture in its different expressions, have also significantly influenced the ideas of gender, education and forms of social life. The course aims to present some important contributions on which the cultures of the body have developed and how it produced changes in physical and aesthetic education, and in ideas of wellbeing

Course contents

The course proposes a cultural journey about the the body through the figures, narratives and research of artists.

The journey invites to the discovery of the illustrated bodies, told and imagined, in the pages of the best international illustrated books for children.

The reflection - interdisciplinary - welcomes the contributions of artists who investigate anatomy with different languages, invites the construction of special affective "dictionaries" of the body, proposes the encounter with the research dedicated to the gesture and movement of the body in space (in particular Virgilio Sieni).
