Marcella Terrusi, PhD in Education, is a researcher in the field of childhood culture, the history of literature and the international publishing for children. Her scientific interests turn to images and the formation of the imaginary in relation to topics such as outdoor education, fashion studies, the representation of body and sport, the right to reading and the global citizenship.
Scientific consultant for Bologna Children's Book Fair since 2005, the world's leading event dedicated to children's publighing, activist of IBBY - International Board on Books for Young People, promoter of inclusion projects such as Little Libraries in Arabic Language, she has held conferences in universities such as Columbia University, Salisbury University, Louisiana State University (USA), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), University of Sharjah (Emirates) and international congress like Mexico City IBBY 2014.
Her monographs are devoted to picturebook (2012) and the second entirely to wordless books (2017). Both published by Carocci, Rome. "Silent wonder" is currently in translation in arabic and cinese language.
