Learning outcomes

The student - knows the basic elements (lexico-grammatical) of the Italian sign language, with hints of regional varieties - is able to use them in elementary communicative situations.

Course contents

After a brief introduction, aspects of linguistics of the LIS will be dealt with, hints of culture of the Deaf and history of Institutions for the Deaf. In addition, some interpretative and translation aspects from and towards Sign Language, intramorphism and emotional aspects of interpretation will be highlighted.

In the practical part an A1.1 level of language acquisition will be proposed, the presentation of oneself, the family, one's house, hobbies and daily occupations.
