Learning outcomes

At the end of the laboratory the student is able to:

- master some of the key concepts of developmental psychopathology with a psychodynamic perspective, with particular reference to intra and inter-individual psychological factors involved in individual’s development during the life cycle;

- face and manage the psychological dynamics in developmental age within the classroom, favoring a relational dimension;

- predict and manage dysfunctional relational behaviors observed in educational and school contexts during preschool and school age;

- identify risk and protection factors, with a particular eye on the dimension of emotional intelligence as a specific variable for children’s well-being;

- develop projects aimed at promoting emotional intelligence during development.

Course contents

PREVENTION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS DURING DEVELOPMENT IN PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS

1. Theoretical elements of dynamic psychology: the emotional significance of intra / inter-individual communication

2. Elements of developmental psychopathology: the role of protective factors in children’s and adolescents’ risky behaviors prevention within educational settings

3. Development of techniques for managing emotional aspects in classroom:Affective education programs, ,Circle-time and the ABC of emotions,Self-description technique, Sculptures technique

4. Drawn stories technique in the context of psychoeducation
