Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student knows and is able to understand the clinical applications of clinical psychology in order to carry out adequate counselling procedures.
Course contents
Loss and mourning in obstetrics.
Psychological correlates of pregnancy, miscarriage, and voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
Illness behavior and psychological reaction to illness.
Job strain, burnout and psychological resilience in midwifery.
Psychological implications of caregiving.
Psychotherapeutic interventions.

References to suggested readings will be provided in the teaching materials.
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons with clinical exemplifications for a total of 24 hours.
Assessment methods
The final evaluation is aimed at assessing the knowledge of the main contents of the course.
The final evaluation is a written exam consisting of 31 multiple-choice questions: for each question four possible answers are provided, only one of which is correct.
For each correct answer 1 point is awarded.
For each wrong or missing answer 0 points are awarded.
The minimum score needed to pass the exam is 18, which is achieved with 18 correct answers.
The maximum achievable score is 30 cum laude, which is achieved with 31 correct answers.
The exam will last for 30 minutes.
