Learning outcomes

The course aims to introduce the main technologies involved in the production of oil&gas fractions, focusing on up-stream and mid-stream operations.

Course contents

  • Oil&Gas reservoirs: characteristics and exploitation strategies

  • Up-stream processes: dewatering, sweetening, stabilization, etc.

  • Up-stream technologies: on-shore technologies, conventional off-shore technologies, floating, sub-sea and deep-water technologies.

  • Mid-stream: Oil&Gas long range trasportation; strategies for natural gas transportation; liquefied natural gas; gas to liquid.

  • Down-stream: fundamentals of refining processes

  • Energy transition: concept and strategies

  • Energy transition: biofuels, biodiesel and blended fuels

  • Energy transition: systems for integrated generation and chemical storage: Gas to Wire, Wire to Gas, Hydromethane, Methanol.

  • Hybrid production systems: integration of renewable electric production with conventional generation from natural gas: chemical storage, hydromethane, synthetic fuels.

  • Decommissioning and energy integration scenarios
