Learning outcomes

The module aims to provide the basics that are the basis of the design to the roof of large span in archeology

Course contents

The design studi is combined by - Composizione Architettonica e urbana, 4 CFU = 48 hrs; - Allestimento e Museografia, 4 CFU = 48 hrs; - Architettura strutturale, 6 CFU = 72 hrs; - L'Arte di costruire, 2 CFU = 24 hrs.

The "Structural Architecture" module contents are:

- The relationship between shape and structure;
- The innovative structural materials;
- The main factors influencing the structural choices;
- The process of structural design;
- Analysis of the main structural types;
- Issues of design and verification.

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures and guided activities. The activities consist of guided exercises which will be addressed in the design, testing and detailing of large shell.

Assessment methods

For the achievement of suitability at the Laboratorio di Laurea, each student will have to develop a design theme related to the specific specification proposed at the "Architecture for Archeology" laboratory, by presenting elaborate graphs and scripts to illustrate the project proposal in a completed way .

To verify the achievement of the specific learning outcomes of the Course "Structural Architecture" , reviews of the works in progress concerning large roofs are planned.
