Learning outcomes

By the end of the course students will have gained a good knowledge of history of theatre from the Low Countries.

Course contents

Drama from the Low Countries. We will read, watch and discuss the following plays:

- Marieken van Nieumeghen (ca. 1500);

- Lucifer by J. van den Vondel (1654);

- Op hoop van zegen by H. Heijermans (1900);

- Prometheus Landscape II (2011) by J. Fabre

Teaching methods

Students willwrite apaper and present it orally at the end of the semester.
