Course contents

The course aims at promoting personal ability in reading original sociological texts. Basic concepts of sociological theory will be presented through direct reading of research and theoretical texts of classic and contemporary authors. Specific attention will be devoted to the problems of the socialization in early childhood, the gender studies and the theoretical perspectives opened by psychoanalysis.

Teaching methods

The course includes lectures, conferences by invited specialists and videos related to the topics.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of a written test lasting two hours. The student will develop three answers to key topics examined in class and in the textbooks. The student will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the volumes contained in the program and a capacity for critical reflection.
