Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is expected to describe and recognize the main histological features necessary for the diagnosis of human diseases

Course contents

Introduction to histologic and citologic diagnosis of diseases


Histopathology atlases (e.g. Color Atlas of Histopathology by R.C. Curran)

Teaching methods

Discussion and analysis of surgical and cytopathological specimens with the teacher

Assessment methods

Students should demonstrate comprehension of the criteria for the pathologic diagnosis after microscopic examination of histology sections

Teaching tools

Multi-headed microscope (ten heads) with digital camera
