Web and Social Media Archiving and Preservation

The Summer School aims to offer high-level training on the emerging issues of archiving and preservation of websites and social media, which represent a new and diversified type of material whose preservation is essential for a variety of scientific fields (e.g. historical, sociological, anthropological, etc..) for the future reconstruction of current civilization. The Summer School also intends to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to encourage the development of new professionals and to start new working paths for interested students.

Course overview
The Summer School is aimed at cultural heritage professionals (archivists, librarians, museum operators), computer scientists, officials of public institutions and private companies and students/doctoral candidates in Library and information science and in Digital humanities and, in general, to all those who are interested in issues related to archiving and preservation of websites, blogs, social media, etc.

Admission qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required, which will be evaluated together with the curriculum vitae and the interest of the candidate in the topics covered by the Summer School.
Selection criteria
It will also be taken into account the equivalence with the three-year degrees of DM 509/99 and previous regulations.
Members of sponsoring societies and associations have priority in the enrollment.
