Chemical and genomics based strategies in the discovery of novel drug targets

The role of the chemistry and the functional genomics in modern drug discovery is to prioritize these targets and to translate that knowledge into rational and reliable novel drugs. The school is dedicated to the field of chemistry and genomics in pharmacology and will review approaches dedicated to RNA profiling, proteomics, antisense and RNA interference, model organisms and high-throughput, genome-wide over-expression or knockdowns and outline the future directions.

Sciences and technology, Health
Learning outcomes
The aim of the School is to expose graduate students and young researchers to new ideas in concurrent programming from international experts. The School provides a unique opportunity for students to have engaging discussions on cutting-edge research with instructors in a focused environment. The main topics will cover: use of established and new tracers or use of reporter genes such as enzymes, receptors, antigens or transporters; antisense and RNA interference, model organisms and high-throughput. A pharmacogenomics approach will be revised to identify new markers for therapy.
