Online Doctoral School Hiperion HS: Excellence in heritage science for conservation and collection care research and access

The IPERION HS Doctoral Summer School provides a learning multidisciplinary interactive experience in the field of Heritage Science. Each year it will be organized by different institutions on different focuses. Theoretical and technical lectures will be imparted by a wide range of international experts in the field of Heritage Science. All lectures are intended to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art as well as specific details of their topic.

Course overview
The HS-DSS will be taught online and comprise four intensive days of lectures and virtual study visits, during which participants will become acquainted with the multidisciplinary skills of the IPERION HS consortium and knowledge accumulated by the partners. Lectures and virtual study tours will be adapted to an interdisciplinary audience of learners by focusing more on problem-solving than on the specific adopted scientific methods/techniques. The focus of the 1st HS-DSS will be placed on “Excellence in Heritage Science for conservation and collection care research and access”. All the sessions will be conducted in English. Postgraduate, PhD students, post-docs and practitioners, in particular to early career researchers involved in Heritage Science studies, are invited to participate free of charge. Registered participants will be selected by the HS-DSS Scientific Committee based on their merits, educational and research background and other criteria. Early applications will be given priority.

Admission qualifications
The IPERION HS Doctoral Summer School is open to postgraduate and PhD students, post-docs, conservators-restorers and scientists working in conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
Linguistic skills
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Other requirements
Participants must be keenly motivated to actively participate and must be available for the whole duration of the summer school.
Selection criteria
Registered participants will be selected by the HS-DSS Scientific Committee based on their merits, educational and research background and other criteria. Early applications will be given priority.
