Learning outcomes

Knowledge of the integrated approach of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology to the assessment and management of patients with physical and/or mental disorders. Knowledge of the application of neuroimaging findings to the understanding of mental disorders.

Course contents

Application of neuroimaging techniques in the management of severe mental disorders (eg., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder)

References to the recommended readings will be provided during the lessons. Additional teaching materials will be made available through the platform Virtuale (Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna).

Teaching methods

The module consists of 8 hours of teaching, delivered through a combination of lessons and interactive sessions in Italian.

Assessment methods

Learning will be assessed through the presentation and discussion of a clinical case. The assessment will consist of a group project. Students will pass the assessment if their work will demonstrate an appropriate clinical and diagnostic formulation of the case presented.
