Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student can correlate the structure of inorganic materials with their chemical and physical properties. Specifically, they acquire knowledge about specific categories of materials such as hydrides, borides, carbides, nitrides, and oxides, learning about their general synthesis methods and some significant and innovative applications, as well as the possible environmental impacts of their use.

Doping with photo- and electroactive species.

Teaching methods
Lectures are delivered face-to-face and use both slides (as visual aids) and a whiteboard (traditional or electronic) for demonstrations and examples.
Laboratories include wet-lab activities (synthesis using sol-gel methods) and analysis using photochemical characterization instruments.
Assessment methods
Final assessment takes place with an oral examination concerning both the laboratory reports and the content of theoretical classes.
