Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student knows the bio-molecular bases of the control of hormonal secretion and of the growth of endocrine glands. Student also learnes pathophysiology, diagnostic approach, and therapy of different diseases
Course contents
Topics of the course are neuroendocrinology, thyroid diseases, hypercortisolism and hypocortisolism, hypertension secondary to endocrine diseases, type and type 2 diabetes, paratiroid diseases, hyperandrogenism and female hypogonadism, male ipogonadism, osteoporosis, obesity and metabolic syndrome, hypoglicaemia, severe insulin resistance states.
