Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the student has basic knowledge in the field of medical virology from a biological, etiopathogenic, and clinical diagnostic perspective. Additionally, the student has solid knowledge about the natural defense mechanisms against viruses and antiviral drugs.

Teaching methods
Lectures. To help students follow along, the teaching materials shown in class are made available to students in electronic format through the institutional platform right before each lecture.
Assessment methods
The final test consists of an oral exam in which the student will mainly discuss a topic taken from the program. During the interview, questions will also be asked to check the depth of the student's knowledge of the proposed topic and other topics in the program, their critical ability to connect different pieces of knowledge, and the achievement of an overall understanding of the subjects covered in class.
The exam will be considered passed if the student has demonstrated sufficient knowledge in each topic.
The student's achievement of a comprehensive view of the topics covered in class, combined with their critical use, the ability to make connections, the demonstration of mastery of expression, and use of specific language will be graded with excellent marks. The criterion for integrating the grade into the overall final evaluation of the CI involves the weighted mathematical average.
Final grade scale: Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that only emerge with the teacher's help, overall correct language expression → 18-19; Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to carry out independent analysis only on purely practical issues, correct language expression → 20-24; Preparation on a wide range of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29; Substantially comprehensive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis and connections, full mastery of specific terminology, and capacity for argumentation and self-reflection → 30-30L. Students with learning disorders and temporary or permanent disabilities are encouraged to contact the dedicated office.
