Learning outcomes

Through technical and practical activities, the student will acquire the specific practical and applied skills related to Functional Cross Training. Furthermore, the student will practice certain benchmark workouts and understand the challenges related to organizing and conducting group training sessions, acquiring the skills to teach the technique of the main exercises used in Functional Cross Training.

Course contents

  • Functional Assessment: Screening of foundational movement patterns, mobility analysis, and evaluation of the physical requirements necessary for practicing Cross Training.

  • Fundamentals of Functional Cross Training: Acquisition of basic practical and applied skills.

  • Teaching Methodology: Teaching methods and technical correction of the primary exercises (weightlifting, gymnastics, and monostructural elements).

  • Benchmark Workouts: Practical execution, analysis, and purpose of standard training protocols.

  • Workout Organization: Logistics, planning, and scaling (adapting) exercises based on the athlete's level.

  • Class Management: Practical execution of conducting group training sessions and resolving related logistical issues (space, equipment, and time management).

  • Coaching and Safety: Development of the interpersonal and technical skills needed to guide a group safely and effectively while preventing injuries.

A single oral examination covering the contents of the integrated course: FUNCTIONAL CROSS TRAINING FOR FITNESS AND PREVENTION.

Assessment criteria:

  • Excellent (28-30 e lode): Outstanding knowledge of all topics, exceptional ability to link theory with practical application, sophisticated critical analysis, and flawless use of specific scientific and technical terminology.

  • Good (24-27): Solid understanding of the core topics, good problem-solving skills in practical scenarios, clear communication with appropriate terminology, though lacking some minor details or deeper analytical nuance.

  • Sufficient (18-23): Basic understanding of the fundamental concepts. Practical application and critical thinking are limited to standard, rehearsed examples. Language is generally understandable but lacks precision or specific terminology.

  • Insufficient (<18): Severe gaps in foundational knowledge and inability to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios.
