Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student will know the main events of the political history of the United States; they will be able to identify the most important social, cultural and economic turning points in the history of the country; they will successfully reconstruct the connections between internal and foreign policy, contextualising the role of the United States in international affairs; they will be able to analyse historiography and will have a critical understanding of the most relevant historiographical debates in US history; they will have acquired a methodology to deepen their knowledge in US history, politics and culture.
