Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student: -knows the integrated outpatient/hospital path that leads to the diagnosis/rehabilitation of cognitive functions for various neurological and psychiatric pathologies -knows the composition of the multidisciplinary hospital team that carries out diagnosis, neuropsychological rehabilitation, and psychoeducational support for caregivers -knows the role of the neuropsychologist within the team, and the clinical, ethical, and welfare aspects of the profession
Course contents
The course includes a historical analysis of the evolution of the National Health Service (SSN), the bodies that constitute it, the subsequent introduction of the Regional Health Services (SSR), and their organization into health districts, Local Health Authorities (AUSL), and University Hospital Trusts (AOU), distinguishing between territorial and hospital departments. Particular emphasis will be placed on the context and services in which psychologists work, with special attention to Ministerial Decree 77 (Mission 6 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – PNRR).
In addition to the organizational components, management aspects will also be addressed, enabling students to undertake their Practical Evaluation Internships (TPV) with a solid understanding of the healthcare context: Essential Levels of Care (LEA), clinical guidelines, Integrated Care Pathways (PDTA), Individualized Care Plans (PAI), and methods of health and social care integration.
With regard to the specific features of the psychologist profession, the course will introduce the concepts of the Code of Ethics, possible contractual arrangements within the SSN, affiliated healthcare facilities, and private practice. It will also provide information on mandatory continuing professional education and social security/pension-related aspects.
