Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, students will have acquired a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts related to the types and graphical representation of assemblies and components used in mechanical and aerospace systems. They will be able to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings, with particular attention to standardized solutions and engineering drawing conventions. Students will also be familiar with the classification of engineering materials and the machine elements most commonly employed in the mechanical and aerospace sectors.

Teaching Materials
PDF presentations and other teaching materials used during lectures will be uploaded to the course's VIRTUALE platform. Students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the platform before the beginning of the course.
The teaching material for each lecture will be made available prior to the corresponding class session.
The material presented during lectures is intended to complement, rather than replace, the recommended textbooks. It serves as a guide to facilitate the understanding of the topics covered in class.

Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures and practical exercises aimed at developing students' skills in technical drawing representation, interpretation, and communication.
The practical activities involve the preparation of drawing assignments progressively assigned by the instructor. These assignments are to be completed on A3 or A4 drawing sheets in accordance with the technical drawing standards and conventions presented during the course. A list of the required materials will be provided during the introductory lecture.
In the final part of the course, students will participate in practice sessions structured as mock examinations. These activities are designed to assess the level of knowledge and skills acquired and to further consolidate the competencies developed throughout the course.
Assessment methods
The examination consists of a written test divided into two parts.
The first part requires students to produce a detailed component drawing from an assembly or general arrangement drawing. The drawing must include dimensions, tolerances, surface roughness specifications, and any other information necessary for manufacturing and inspection. For this part of the examination, students must bring an A3 standardized drawing sheet and all the drawing instruments required to complete the graphical assignment.
The second part consists of three theoretical questions covering the topics included in the course syllabus and discussed during the lectures.
Only students who have completed all the drawing assignments assigned during the practical sessions will be admitted to the examination.
he final grade for the integrated course Computer-Aided Technical Drawing is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in Industrial Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Drawing.
IMPORTANT: The Industrial Technical Drawing exam must be taken before the Computer-Aided Drawing exam, and the time interval between the two exams must be 12 months or less.
In accordance with the University Code of Ethics (Codice Etico di Ateneo), students’ attention is drawn to the obligation to adopt conduct based on the highest standards of integrity.
Any activity that may compromise the proper conduct of examinations is prohibited, including but not limited to:
• cheating and plagiarism;
• access to online learning resources;
• use of artificial intelligence tools not expressly authorized;
• use or possession of unauthorized materials or equipment.
It is specified that the mere possession of unauthorized tools or materials during the conduct of any examination results in the immediate invalidation of the submitted work and notification to the competent offices.
Any conduct in violation of the above provisions may result in disciplinary proceedings and, where criminal relevance applies, reports to the competent authorities, with the consequent risk of criminal proceedings being initiated against the students involved.
Teaching tools
Lectures are supported by a video projector and multimedia teaching materials. For the practical exercises, students are required to provide their own technical drawing equipment, including standardized A3 and A4 drawing sheets, pencils or mechanical pencils, set squares, a compass, erasers, and similar drawing instruments.
A detailed list of the required materials and equipment to be provided by students will be distributed during the first class meeting.
