Preliminary Knowledge Required

Students must have a solid clinical and care foundation related to the nursing care process, the management of acute and chronic patients, and the main care settings, complemented by ethical-deontological and legal knowledge, elements of healthcare organization and teamwork, fundamental notions of emergency and urgent care, as well as transversal skills in clinical reasoning, reading scientific literature, and using IT tools.

Useful knowledge

Basic knowledge related to organ donation and transplantation, prison medicine, and innovative health technologies, including introductory elements of artificial intelligence, is useful, as well as the ability to understand scientific English

Readings/Bibliography

Specialized teaching materials and bibliographic references shared by the lecturers of the various seminars will be made available on the Virtual Teaching platform. The shared readings are essential to prepare for the exam, and lecturers may suggest additional recommended texts for further study.

Assessment methods

A multiple-choice test will be administered on the EOL virtual platform; during the test, tools such as calculators, dictionaries, codes, etc., are not allowed. The test involves obtaining a qualification.

The test will consist of 12 multiple-choice questions, of which only one is correct. To pass the test, the student must answer at least 7 questions correctly. The eligibility obtained in case of passing the test will be integrated into the assessment of the Fundamental nursing care laboratory III exam. 

Regarding learning assessment, the use of AI is prohibited. Any use constitutes a violation of academic integrity.

Students with DSA or temporary or permanent disabilities: it's recommended to contact the relevant university office in advance (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/it); they will take care of proposing possible adjustments for the students, which still need to be submitted to the teacher for approval 15 days in advance, who will evaluate their suitability also in relation to the educational objectives of the course.

Teaching tools

PowerPoint slides, scientific articles, recordings on the Panopto platform, procedures and guidelines, and material shared by the experts who will participate in the meetings will be used.

Class attendance

As indicated on the CdS website (Class Attendance — Nursing - Bachelor's - Ravenna [https://corsi.unibo.it/laurea/Infermieristica-Ravenna/frequenza-delle-lezioni]), the expected attendance for the seminars is 100%.

Classes that are not attended or are only partially attended can be made up by watching the full original recording, available in person, on the Panopto platform.

It will be possible to view only one recording per meeting, on dates that will be communicated to you in a timely manner. If organizationally feasible, a make-up session will be scheduled in Forlì and one in Faenza.

To access make-ups, you need to have attended at least 4 out of 6 modules; those who have attended 3 or fewer will need to retake the entire course in the 2027/28 academic year.

Anyone who doesn’t reach 100% attendance will be blocked by the academic office and won’t be able to take the exam, having to retake the lessons the following year.
