Learning outcomes
The course offers knowledge of the systematic approach to the integrated design of vehicle systems and components and the ability to understand the process of managing life cycle engineering projects, using state-of-the-art "computer aided" tools. Students, through a laboratory, apply advanced modeling techniques to the development of products/processes for road and off-highway vehicles, through practice on collaborative digital platforms for the construction of digital models. Students, thanks to the development of a group engineering design study, experience an autonomous capacity for judgment with respect to the management of a technical innovation project and the implementation of the design phases provided by the systematic approach. They also exercise soft skills relating to the management of group dynamics, the discussion of project synthesis choices and their technical communication. The course proposes the development of the skills necessary to undertake subsequent studies with a high degree of autonomy, to integrate into the sector of design of systems and components for road and off-highway vehicles and to be an active and collaborative part of the engineering community.
