Learning outcomes
At the end of the internship, the student is able to fully fabricate certain types of custom-made orthopedic devices. The student also has the ability to customize and adapt nearly all types of assistive devices. The student possesses the basic skills to manage the entire fabrication and/or assembly process for various devices in accordance with medical prescriptions, with some degree of independence. They develop a critical understanding of devices for mobility, posture, and pressure ulcer prevention, as well as personal care and personal autonomy.

Since the training program is based primarily on practical internships, there are no required textbooks.
The instructional materials may consist of handouts, technical manuals, or other documentation provided by the partner companies where the internships take place, if available.

Internships and Practical Training at Affiliated Orthopedic and Healthcare Clinics
Assessment methods
Learning outcomes will be assessed through a three-part evaluation process: the internship period, the report, and the results of the practical exam.
The evaluation will take into account the entire internship period, considering the participant’s commitment, participation, the level of autonomy achieved, and the technical and professional skills developed during the activities carried out at the host company.
At the end of the program, the participant must take a practical exam covering the content and tasks performed during the internship, in order to assess their ability to correctly apply the knowledge and skills acquired in a real-world setting.
The topics for the practical exam will be selected on the day of the exam, ensuring impartiality and transparency in the evaluation process.
The practical exam will last 30 minutes—evaluation by the tutors.

The final grade will be the arithmetic mean of the final report evaluation, the tutor’s evaluation, and the practical exam.
