Learning outcomes

At the end of the internship, the student possesses the knowledge and skills to manage technical work in the workshop and testing room under the supervision of a tutor. The student is familiar with the range of prostheses and orthoses in the field of orthopedic technology; is able to understand the details specified in a medical prescription; and is also able to select and use the most appropriate materials for the fabrication of prostheses and orthoses. They learn about and how to use the equipment most commonly found in orthopedic workshops.

Educational workshops with dedicated instructors, hands-on demonstrations of the processes

Assessment methods

The final evaluation will take the following components into account:


- the submission of a report on the internship activities carried out at partner companies


- the practical exam on orthotics


- the evaluation by company mentors


The final grade will be calculated as the arithmetic mean of these three evaluations.


Passing the course is contingent upon attending at least 100% of the classes.
