Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has the knowledge and the ability to understand the objectives reachable through rehabilitation and to learn the tools to achieve them, knowing how to design and execute targeted interventions at satisfying the needs of the above person with neurolesion. He also knows and recognize the main clinical features, which lists the rehabilitation treatment.

Course contents

General elements of neuro-anatomy of the peripheral nervous system. Clinic of peripheral neurolesions and etiology. - Cervical plexus, brachial plexus, lumbar plexus, sacral plexus. - EMG, ENG, pathological entity of peripheral nerve lesion (from neurapraxia to neurotmesis). - Lesion of the VII ° n. c. and principal compressive neuropathies. - Polyneuropathies. General lines, shapes metabolic, S. Guillain-Barre Syndrome. - Hereditary degenerative neuropathies (Chacot-Marie-Tooth disease and Dejerine-Sottas). - General principles, objectives and working tools of rehabilitation treatment of peripheral neurolesions - Ataxia. Definition, clinical and anatomical delineation of different forms (sensory, cerebellar, vestibular, front. - Hereditary ataxia. Friedreich, Pierre-Marie, Strumpell-Lorrain, Levy-Roussy. - Principles of treatment of cerebellar and vestibular ataxia. - traumatic mielolesion. Incidence data in Italy and abroad. - Acute phase. Clinical problems associated. Principles of treatment. - Post-acute phase. Clinical problems associated. Principles of treatment. Given the nature of the activities and the teaching methods used, participation in this training program requires all students to complete Modules 1 and 2 via e-learning and to attend the third module, which focuses specifically on health and safety at study and internship sites.
