Learning outcomes

At the end of the internship, the student will have the knowledge and ability to recognize normality in the individual differences of the general population and to promote correct prevention strategies for voice and language health, knows the cognitive, linguistic and relational development of the child, also knows the development of voice and swallowing from infant to geriatric age and, with respect to these areas, is able to discriminate physiological pathways from non-physiological pathways.

 

Course contents

- Knowledge of the physiological development of language in children

- knowledge of normal swallowing function

- knowledge of correct vocal production in developmental, geriatric adulthood

- knowledge of the Professional Profile of the Speech Therapist (Ministerial Decree 742 of 1994)

- Knowledge of the speech therapist's code of ethics

- Knowledge of the main areas of intervention of the speech therapist

Teaching methods

Two practical internship periods—one in a preschool and one in an operational unit designated during preliminary meetings with the RADP and the Academic Tutor; Seminars and supplementary activities; use of the Virtual platform will be required.

Assessment methods

The exam will be oral (consisting of two predominantly theoretical questions and one clinical reasoning question) and graded on a scale of thirty. The examination board will take into account the student's internship experience and the submitted assignments, evaluating them in terms of quality and the achievement of objectives.
