Learning outcomes

  • To understand the nosography, psychopathology, and semiotics of the main Eating and Feeding Disorders, including the pathophysiology of complications and the ability to distinguish the features of Eating Disorders (ED) from those of psychiatric comorbidities;

  • To recommend the diagnostic assessments necessary to carry out an accurate differential diagnosis (medical evaluation and psychiatric interview);

  • To identify the most appropriate level of care in accordance with International Guidelines;

  • To develop skills in conducting the clinical interview and communicating the diagnosis (to patients and family members);

  • To manage complex cases and work within multidisciplinary teams (Role-playing and Learning by doing).

  • Course contents

    Nosography, psychopathology, pathophysiology, and semiotics of the main Eating and Feeding Disorders

    Diagnostic assessments necessary to carry out an accurate differential diagnosis (medical evaluation and psychiatric/psychological interview)

    Treatment (most appropriate level of care in light of International Guidelines, main psychotherapies used)

    Clinical interview and communication of the diagnosis (to the patient and family members)
