Learning outcomes

Preparation for the New Healthcare Context: students will be prepared to operate in the new epidemiological and social scenario, understanding their professional role in the Primary Health Care approach. This is essential in light of the regulatory innovations of the National Health Service and new professional profiles. In addition, students will learn the importance of providing healthcare without disparities, promoting equity in access and quality of services, so that every individual receives adequate care, regardless of socioeconomic background or origin.

Differences, disparities, horizontal equity, and vertical equity.

Reading and interpreting epidemiological data.

Social contexts in which epidemiological data suggest intervention to improve cardiovascular health.

Interpreting guidelines.

Critical reading of a scientific paper.

The road to equity in cardiovascular health.
