Course contents

The course is divided into three parts:
Part I (10h)
Introduction to the history of racism, from religious anti-Judaism to modern forms, including biological racism.
Part II (10h)
Introduction to the history of citizenship, with particular focus on Italy from unification to the present day.
Part III (10h)
History of immigration in Italy from the post-World War II period to today.

The exam program is the same for both attending and non-attending students.

Teaching methods

The course is delivered through face-to-face lessons with the help of audiovisual materials (Power Point presentations, movies, music). The course is held in Italian.

Assessment methods

Attending students will be required to study Michele Colucci’s volume as part of a workshop specifically devoted to this topic during the course, and will complete the remaining syllabus through an oral examination. Non-attending students will be required to cover the entire syllabus through an oral examination in the scheduled exam sessions starting from the end of the course.
