Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student - has acquired a deep knowledge of the empirical researches in education focused on the topic of social unease. - can analyse the educational contexts and needs in order to define in detail a project of intervention addressed to people in social unease. - can define some ways, tools and resources to realise educational and training project networked with the territorial services. - can analyse the contribution coming from the empirical educational research for the field of social prevention in order to define some educational intervention's problems and hypothesis. - can analyse and assess trough adequate tools, the processes and the results of projects of intervention in the social and rehabilitative domain. - can manage projects that are funded from different institutions promoting the necessary collaboration between the professionals involved. - is able to adequately report the results of empirical researches with the thorough knowledge of the specific terminology. - can analyse and compare the data coming from educational empirical researches in order to promote in-service self training .

Course contents

The course is aimed at promoting skills in the analysis, design, monitoring, and evaluation of educational projects across various areas of social work.
The course will address two main topics:

  1. Empirical research in education and its methodologies

  2. Theories and strategies for designing and evaluating educational interventions

The models and tools of empirical research provide the foundation for the conception, design, implementation, and evaluation of educational projects.
Throughout the course, all phases of project design will be explored in depth through the analysis of theoretical models, methodological and operational guidelines, and examples of good design practices.
